How do I learn if a Winter Intersession course is still available?
To search for the most up-to-date class offerings and availability, check here. When viewing the course selections in your UConn Student Admin account, search for only open classes, and all classes with available seats will appear.

 

Will you add additional courses if a popular course fills up?
This is decided on a case-by-case basis with the Registrar’s Office and the academic department offering the course. Your UConn Student Admin account has up-to-date course offerings and availability for all Winter Intersession classes.

 

What is the schedule for each Winter Intersession course?
Please check your UConn Student Admin account for exact class details. The three-week classes meet daily, and the majority begin at 9:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.

 

What is the length of class time for a Winter Intersession course?
The length of a course is determined by the credit hours. The Board of Trustees has declared the length of a credit hour as 11 hours and 40 minutes. Three-credit classes meet for 3 hours daily, and four-credit classes meet for 4 hours daily.

 

Do Winter Intersession classes have papers, final exams, or multiple exams?
The coursework for each class depends on the individual class. The majority of courses have one final exam administered on the last class meeting.

 

Can I take Winter Intersession courses online?
Yes, online courses are offered this Winter Intersession.

 

Are courses that filled up in the Fall and Spring semesters being offered this winter?
Yes. To search for the most up-to-date class offerings and availability, check here. You can also log in to your UConn Student Admin account to view and register for all Winter Intersession classes.

 

What are the deadlines for adding or dropping Winter Intersession courses?
UConn undergraduates may add/drop classes through their Student Admin System account until the add/drop deadline dates of December 30. A class dropped after December 30 must be processed through the Registrar’s Office.

Are campus housing and meal plans available at the main campus in Storrs during the winter?

Cost/Financial Aid

How much does Winter Intersession cost?
Winter Intersession courses are paid on a per credit basis for both in-state and out-of-state UConn students. For more specific information, please visit our Fees and Registration Page.

 

Can I apply for financial aid for Winter Intersession?
UConn degree students receiving financial aid may be able to use unrefunded fall or spring aid toward Winter Intersession fees. Contact the Office of Financial Aid (860-486-2819) for more information regarding loans and work study opportunities.

 

Are Winter Intersession scholarships available?
There are currently no such scholarships available through the University.

Yes, you would register as a non-degree student through the Center for Continuing Studies.

 

I’m a Storrs campus student. How do I register for Winter Intersession classes at a UConn regional campus?
Log in to search for classes and register online. You may also register by mail, fax or in person at any UConn Registrar’s Office. Winter Intersession classes are offered at the main campus at Storrs and at the Avery Point, Hartford, Stamford and Waterbury regional campuses.

 

I attend one of UConn’s five regional campuses. How do I register for classes on the Storrs campus?
